Glove size calculator

Enter your hand circumference to find your glove size.

Glove sizing is based on hand circumference: the measurement taken just above the thumb knuckle, around the palm. This single measurement works for fashion, ski, motorcycle and work gloves alike — only the material (leather, fleece, technical fabric) slightly affects the final fit.

The European system uses the centimetre value directly (e.g. size 8 = 20 cm). The US system uses inches. Our table covers both and includes the XS-XXL letter mapping so you can shop online with confidence.

How to measure your hand
  1. Take a tape measure (or a strip of paper to measure with a ruler afterwards).
  2. Wrap it around your dominant hand, just above the thumb knuckle, with a relaxed palm.
  3. Note the measurement in centimetres, without pulling tight.
  4. Look up your size in the table above.

Frequently asked questions

Should I measure my dominant hand or both?

Measure your dominant hand (right for right-handers), which is typically slightly larger. If you are between two sizes, size up for technical gloves (ski, motorcycle) and size down for leather fashion gloves which will stretch with use.

Are women's and men's sizes different?

The measurement system (hand circumference in cm) is identical. However, manufacturers use different cuts: women's gloves are typically thinner and narrower at the wrist for the same size, men's gloves are more generous.

How do numerical sizes (7, 8, 9) match letter sizes (XS-XXL)?

6½-7 corresponds to XS/S, 7½-8 to M, 8½-9 to L, 9½-10 to XL, 10½-11 to XXL. The numerical size is the hand circumference in inches: 7 inches = about 18 cm.

How do I measure children's gloves?

Same method: hand circumference under the thumb knuckle. For very young children who fidget, measure several times and take the largest value. Children's sizes typically range from XXS (4-6 years) to S (10-12 years).

Should I leave room for warm winter or ski gloves?

If you wear a liner or plan to slide a hand warmer inside, add 1 cm to your measurement. For ski gloves with built-in lining, take your exact size — the lining is already accounted for by the manufacturer.
