Shoe size converter
Convert your shoe size between European, American, British and Japanese systems.
Shoe sizes follow different national systems: EU/FR (direct numbering), US (with men/women offset), UK (similar to men's US), JP (foot length in cm). Brands often print several systems on the same pair.
A 41 EU corresponds to a foot of about 26 cm, that is US 9 women or US 8 men, UK 7.5 or JP 26. But beware: cuts vary widely by brand. A Nike 41 does not have the same width as an Adidas 41. Measuring your foot remains the reference.
- Place a sheet of paper on the floor against a wall.
- Stand on it, heel against the wall.
- Mark the position of your big toe (or longest if different).
- Measure the distance from wall to mark in cm: that is your foot length. Add 0.5 to 1 cm for comfort.

Frequently asked questions
Why are US men and women different?
Historically US sizes had a 1.5 offset (US 7 women = US 5.5 men). For the same foot, women's size is higher. EU and JP do not have this difference.
Should I size up by half?
If between two EU sizes, take the larger for closed shoes (feet swell during the day). For sandals or flip-flops, take the exact size.
My left and right feet differ, what do I do?
It's normal (up to 5 mm difference). Take the size of the larger foot. If the difference is over 1 cm, some brands offer mismatched pairs or compensating insoles.
Should I size in the morning or evening?
Measure in the afternoon, when feet are slightly swollen (day's effect). That's the real situation you'll wear shoes in most of the time.
